{"id":18444,"date":"2026-08-24T09:26:35","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T12:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biolabeco.com.br\/?post_type=imprensa&#038;p=18444"},"modified":"2026-08-24T09:26:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T12:26:35","slug":"owozy-how-it-works-and-when-the-new-brazilian-semaglutide-pen-will-hit-the-market","status":"publish","type":"imprensa","link":"https:\/\/www.biolabeco.com.br\/en\/imprensa\/owozy-como-funciona-e-quando-chegara-ao-mercado-a-nova-caneta-de-semaglutida-brasileira\/","title":{"rendered":"Owozy: How It Works and When the New Brazilian Semaglutide Pen Will Hit the Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Pharmaceutical companies Sandoz and Biolab join forces to enter the synthetic semaglutide market<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partnership announced this week between Sandoz and Biolab will soon make Owozy\u2014a new synthetic semaglutide pen for the treatment of type 2 diabetes\u2014available in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drug is arriving amid a veritable regulatory and commercial race: at the end of July, the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) approved five synthetic versions of the molecule all at once, all manufactured using chemical pathways different from the one used by Novo Nordisk to produce Ozempic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Owozy\u2019s strategies\u2014not to be confused with Ozivy, the EMS pen\u2014to stand out from the crowd is its heat resistance: once removed from the refrigerator, the pen can remain unrefrigerated for up to 42 days at temperatures of up to 30\u00b0C without losing its effectiveness. In practice, this means patients have more freedom to carry the medication with them in their daily lives without relying on cooler bags or constant refrigeration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recently announced agreement divides responsibilities between the two companies. Sandoz, the Brazilian subsidiary of the Swiss pharmaceutical company specializing in generics and biosimilars, will be responsible for supplying the product.
