She recounted her entire experience in the text below, and you can be sure it will inspire you to run, too!
"The Smurfs Run" Brings Generations Together in São Paulo
Not every road race is about pace, personal bests, or performance goals. Some races take a different approach: turning physical activity into an entertaining experience capable of attracting everyone from experienced runners to those who have never participated in an event of this kind. That was the concept behind The Smurfs Run, a themed race inspired by the blue characters that have captivated generations.
Held last Sunday, the 31st, at Villa-Lobos Park in São Paulo, the event featured running and walking courses in a setting designed for the whole family. The theme was evident in virtually every detail, from the goody bags given to participants to the interactive activities scattered throughout the event area.
Even early in the morning, the park was already bustling. The official kit shirt was blue and helped create a sort of sea of Smurfs among the participants. Some went the extra mile and showed up in costumes, wearing hats and accessories inspired by the characters. The kit included a T-shirt, a bib number, an identification wristband, a themed reusable bag, and freebies such as snacks and smoothies.
