Biolab Farma Launches Skincare Line with Prebiotics and Postbiotics

Biolab Farma announces the launch of Probiom, a complete line of skincare products for dry, sensitive, and irritated skin that features postbiotic and prebiotic technology, including a Moisturizing Body Lotion (200 ml) and a Soothing Facial Lotion (50 ml), and the line has just hit the market.

Unlike conventional moisturizers, the Probiom line uses bacterial fermentation in the form of postbiotics (SymReboot L19). This component acts as biological “coaches” that send direct signals to strengthen the skin’s natural defenses, protecting it against daily damage such as pollution and excessive dryness. Meanwhile, prebiotic oligosaccharides modulate the skin’s pH and create a microenvironment conducive to the growth of microorganisms beneficial to the skin. The formulas are also enriched with active ingredients such as alpha-bisabolol, allantoin, and ginger extract, which ensure rapid reduction of redness and maintain hydration through an invisible protective film.

The launch of Biolab addresses an unmet need among Brazilian consumers. Data from the Brazilian Association of the Personal Hygiene, Fragrance, and Cosmetics Industry (ABIHPEC) reveal that Brazilians take, on average, 8.5 showers per week. However, this cultural habit of frequent hygiene is not always accompanied by adequate protection: according to the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), 39% of Brazilians do not moisturize their bodies, and 57% neglect their faces.

Continued exposure to hot showers and the use of harsh cleaning products can disrupt the skin's microbiota—the community of microorganisms that acts as a protective shield. Probiom's goal is to provide the intelligent ingredients needed for the skin to regain its natural balance and resilience.
