Biolab teams up with street artist Elvis Mourão to make mental health communication more relatable

Published in June 24, 2026

To bring the conversation about mental health into people’s daily lives in a more lighthearted, human, and taboo-free way. That is the goal of the Biolab Pharmaceuticals, one of the ten largest laboratories in the Brazilian market, with the launch of its initiative focused on the Central Nervous System (CNS) segment. Focused on promoting emotional well-being, the initiative combines science with the sensitivity of art to demystify the stigmas surrounding mental health care. For this project, the company collaborated exclusively with the renowned urban artist Elvis Mourão, who authored the work “The Illustrated Brain.”.  Known for his striking lines and contemporary aesthetic, the visual artist and graffiti artist deconstructed the anatomical representation of the brain. In the composition, intertwined organic forms and his playful characters symbolize how thoughts, emotions, and neural connections coexist in harmony. The colorful visual identity was designed to convey the diversity and energy of mental processes in everyday life.

Pharmaceutical Company Launches Campaign That Combines Street Art to Raise Awareness About Mental Health – “My main concern was to avoid an anatomical representation of the brain and to convey its complexity in a light, vivid, and accessible way. Urban art has the unique power to communicate without technical or clinical barriers. I wanted people to look at the illustration and feel an immediate connection, fostering empathy,”, the artist explains Elvis Mourão.  “Given our approach to the central nervous system, we understand that caring for mental health goes far beyond traditional clinical treatment. It also means providing a welcoming environment, treating people with humanity, and demystifying the stigmas that still surround mental health. Harnessing the power of urban art and Elvis Mourão’s sensitive style is our way of bringing this commitment to life, showing that mental balance and well-being can and should be discussed in a lighthearted, dynamic way that’s more in tune with people’s daily lives,”, highlights Lucas Marqueto Passos, Marketing Manager at Biolab Farmacêutica.
